Navigation Bar Only Part of Video Length

Postby Vain_3805 » 11 Dec 2024 22:06

I have the same exact issue as https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=163809

Except the offered solution doesn't help. MP4/MOV Encapsulation setting is already that. I've been trying to record this 1 hour and 38 minute file for days.

First, it had no sound because I didn't have speakers plugged in. Tried my crummy bluetooth headset but the sound cuts out all the time on those and the cutting out was included. Got a $20 set of speakers. Video now has flawless sound. But now that the video has sound the progress bar only goes 25 minutes in. In order to verify the entirety of the file exists I have to watch the video. And it is all there. Every frame and sound.

I'm sure this is a user error. It was 22 minutes of progress bar but then I changed the Convert profile from H.264+MP3 to Video for MPEG4 1080p TV/device which bought me a who 3 minutes of progress/navigation bar.

VLC 3.0.20 Vetinari

Does anyone have any ideas, suggestion, criticism? I'll even take slightly productive mockery.

Maybe there's a way to record the audio and video separately and combine it later?
