VLC fails to play AV1 codec movies

On older GPU (i7-8700) with no hardware decoding for AV1, i need to switch "hardware decoding" to unactive, to play
I would like an option "Old GPU" and manually select each codec for hardware decoding.

I can't reproduce this on Windows, VLC automatically falls back to software decoding and plays the file.
What is your OS ? What is your VLC version ? What is your GPU ?
