VLC play next over a folder

Hi, I've been using VLC for a long time and more recently over varying platforms. My question is there a way to allow it to not just play the next video when SMB into an authenticated shared folder, but also the sub folders and video's then the next folder
So
| main folder \ play*.*
| -- sub folder \ play*.*
| -- \ | -- sub folder \ play*.*sub folder \ play*.*

etc etc
