MP4 audio not playing

hi- I edited a small mp4 clip in VLC player longtime back ( 3-4 years) .Everything was fine...
recently I tried to replay that clip and I get NO Audio..
searching through, I converted the file to another MP4 in VLC player..
No matter which version of the available conversions, audio does not play.
I tried the windows 10 and 11 video editors too .. No audio.
How can I get the audio back?

Searching through the forum , I found the following ...

Please run VLC with this command line for creating a log file:
CODE: SELECT ALL

vlc --extraintf=logger --verbose=2 --logfile=C:\temp\vlc.log --logmode=text --file-logging

and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.
Make sure you have full access rights to the destination path.

Is this how I generate the verbose log ..?
I do not know how to run that command .
How do I get to that command line ?
please point me to the " how to generate the verbose log"--- step by step instructions and , I will follow it..

Yes, this way or this one: open the menu Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback.

Then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

I didn't see anything wrong with the audio in your log.

You don't hear anything because there is no audio in the audio track of your file. No sound, no signal, its waveform is absolutely flat:

Considering that there's blank audio with any player, seems you did not encode the proper audio track and your memories are wrong (never tested audio result).
