VLC on PC vs. VLC on TV

Postby socker_dad » 15 Jan 2024 23:05

I've been ripping hundreds of movies with MakeMKV. I send them to a mass storage device (5 terrabyte easystore), then plug them into my television. I have the VLC app from the Google Play Store installed on the television. Here's the problem:

* - The rips will play perfectly on my PC.
* - However, not all the rips will play on the television. The video is frozen, but sometimes the audio is playing - and sometimes not.

I just don't get what I am doing wrong. Is there some kind of a bug with the Google Play Store version of VLC?

That sounds like your TV is less powerful than your PC a'd simply can't decode live.
