I made a screen recording using VLC's Capture Device feature. The video is a bit over 2 hours in duration, 4 or so GB in size. However, the seek bar / progress bar at the bottom only displays the first 40 or so seconds. Like this: https://imgur.com/a/prGVJSM
I attempted to do a "Convert / Save", and changed it into a couple of random formats, but it's either still the same or the video just won't play then, I'm now trying to convert it to a webm format but it seems like it'll take a day or two for that. When uploaded to youtube, only the first 40 seconds displayed on the Seeker bar are uploaded. Mind, the entire video is there, it can be watched, just can't be browsed with the seeker bar.
I'm on Windows 10 and I just updated my VLC a couple of minutes ago (meaning the recording wasn't taken on the latest version). Regardless of what caused the problem, or how to prevent it in the future, I would like to know how I can fix this particular video.
If anyone thinks it could help, I could upload and send you the video, though it is chunky.

I fixed the issue. I'll leave this thread up, since I couldn't find anything on Google by searching for this. In case someone comes across this, maybe it'll be useful. If the moderators feel like it needs to be deleted, go ahead. This is the fix I used, which I got out of numerous back and forth's with ChatGPT.

Click on the "Convert/Save" button.

Click on the "Edit Selected Profile" button (wrench icon) to modify the profile settings.
In the "Encapsulation" tab, make sure the "MP4/MOV" option is selected. (this is the main part, I converted it before but I didn't do this part)
Click on the "Save" button to save the modified profile.
Click on the "Start" button to begin the conversion.
This process will create a new file with corrected metadata. After the conversion, check the seek bar in the newly created file to see if it displays the correct duration."
