I updated VLC today and I noticed that now if VLC isn't focused, the full screen controller will never show up. For example, if I have file explorer open in monitor 3 and I double click a video file, VLC plays it in monitor 1, but the focus is still on the file explorer window. Being focused within something other than VLC is very useful, like I wanted to take notes, look something up, etc., I could just mouse over the controller to see the player time and even use the mouse wheel to rewind or advance on the time bar.
And even when VLC is in focus, the controller now disappears when I try to click a button twice. I often need to click on the controller more than once, like when I want to toggle to loop one file, which requires two clicks of the loop button, or advancing multiple chapters, setting an A/B loop, stepping forward or backward, frame by frame, probably other functions too. The work around is click the button once, click again to unstick the controller, waggle the cursor, then I can click again.
