VLC PLAYING .MOV FILES

Postby votamisca » 30 Jan 2023 15:04

This might be a simple question for some, but to me it's a years long frustration.

Why can I never get .mov video to play smoothly? Especially if there is an alpha channel in the video, then most times it can't pick up the visuals at all. Is there some sort of codec I am missing?

Check this:

If it doesn't help then open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of your original problematic file to Zippyshare.com or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

200 MB max should be enough but a full complete short file is better.
