Snapshots don't apply HDR to SDR tone mapping

I'm viewing HDR video on an SDR display. The snapshots don't apply tone mapping. Is there a way to take snapshots with tone mapping applied?

I think it's a known issue but what is your OS ?

I use Arch Linux, but I get the same results on Windows 11.

I want to take snapshots from 4K HDR video taken with an iPhone. I use a 1080p monitor, so I can't just use a screenshot tool.

mpv can take snapshots with tone mapping applied, but I prefer the way VLC's tone mapping looks. If anybody knows how to get the same tone mapping in mpv that VLC uses, that would also be helpful.
