Stream info does not show in https streams

Postby Internaut » 25 Dec 2022 03:40

Just today I updated my .pls files for Soma FM and discovered something odd. They have switched to https for some reason, and I noticed the track info no longer appears at the top of the player window. This made me do some testing and I discovered that when I connect to Soma FM and play their music streams, I see the track info at the top of the player window only when I used http. But when I use https the info does not appear. Is this a technical problem with the info stream? Is it just not present for https connections? Or is this possibly a problem with Soma FMs streaming setup? Or is this a bug in VLC? So far I have not found any other streams that accept both http or https to test this.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

Oops, didn't seem like a long log to me, but the limit here is pretty strict.

Here are the outputs from http and https connection.

Yes, I can reproduce the issue while the icy-title information is sent in both cases and displayed by other players.

You should create a new report ticket on the VLC Trac with your above report, the link to your log file and the link to this thread:
