DVD audio track is silent

Postby kolko » 28 Dec 2022 13:18

I have a movie on DVD with multiple audio tracks for the various dubs that have been released for it. The DVD plays just fine, except for one specific audio track that is silent. Whenever I select it, the movie gets silent. If I select this track from the DVD menu (the menu that pops up when I open the DVD), it will be selected, but the English audio track will play instead once I click play (and will be the one showing up as selected if I right click). There doesn't seem to be anything special about this audio track, other that it is the only 2.0 stereo track (the others 5.1). I have tried this with 2 different Windows 10 computers and the same thing happens. My DVD Player doesn't even seem to recognize the track, so I can't select it using the language button on the remote (but I can select it just fine from the DVD menu). Could this be an issue with the DVD or something else?

Do you have any preferred audio language(s) set ? If so, remove them all, save, exit, restart VLC and try again.
