How to DISABLE TIMESHIFTing

Hi, is there any way to DISABLE TIMESHIFTing? If playing RTSP stream from live webcam, I need sometimes pause it for a while (freeze picture) and then play actual (live) stream immediately, so I can't use STOP and PLAY.

I found in Preferences - Input/Codecs only Timeshift directory and Timeshift granularity options, but changing anyone of them can't DISABLE TIMESHIFT. Can you specify what to change and how?

I also would appreciate a possibility to deactivate timeshift during videograbbing to provide a still picture via the pause key.

4 years later and i do not find a way to disable TimeShifting, am i missing it or has it actually not been implemented yet?

Bump! 8 more years later, still looking for a way to disable timeshift completely.

This feature sometimes starts writing unecessary data to the SSD when pausing a livestream unintentionally, without me noticing or without that I want to use this feature, please allow disabling it completely.
