Screenshots Yield Flat Colors on 4K mkv

I'm trying to take some stills from a film, however every screenshot I take the colors come out super flat - not nearly as saturated as they are when watching the film through VLC. It seems that when played back through VLC its applying a color correction. Is there a way of making the color correction show up in the screengrab, at the native quality of the video? I'm trying to get the highest quality possible for a print!

I wasn't able to find a ticket related to this issue so I don't know if it has been fixed or not.
Maybe in VLC 4 nightly build ? :
