I am using GeForce Experience (formerly ShadowPlay) to record videos, and they get saved onto my network share (file server) in my local network. It is an Unraid share.
Videos that are generated by GeForce Experience that are saved directly onto the file server (through a mapped drive of the samba network share) cannot play in VLC Media Player (Windows 10).
I am receiving the error in the title - "filesystem error: read error: No error"
The video file is created correctly. I can copy it to my local machine and play it fine in VLC. I can even copy files directly to the same directory, the very same video file even, and it will play.
I don't believe it is a permissions issue, as copying the very same file back to the same directory results in the same permissions for both files (I checked, and even chmod 777 to be sure) and yet there is a discrepancy in which video VLC is able to play successfully.
I don't understand the error message and would like some guidance on investigating this issue deeper,
Unfortunately I cannot fit the entire debug log in this post, as it is too many characters. If there is an approved location to provide error logs, I will submit them there and share them in this thread.
