DVD Rip bug

Postby frankied » 31 May 2021 02:12

I'm using VLC to rip a dvd for the first time. The DVD has multiple audio tracks. No matter what options I select, it always rips the output MP4 with all audio tracks, even if I select each one specifically. Is this a bug, or am I not doing something right. VLC 3.0.14 Vetinari

But it might be easier with Handbrake:

VLC 3 has been set to "--sout-all" by default. You can use "--no-sout-all" CLI option or you can set it in VLC preferences: Tools > Preferences > Show settings=All > Stream output: [ ] Enable streaming of all ES
Do you rip a DVD using the Converting wizard (Media > Convert/Save...)? The Streaming wizard (Media > Stream...) has that option in the last step there.

I'm not sure what you mean by selecting a track, but normal UI track selection only affects playback, not streaming.
