Not flickering. Flashing. Full screen, rapid, black to bright white flashing. If I had epilepsy, I suspect I would be on the floor.
I've used VLC for years.
My gaming computer's motherboard died without taking any drives with it. It was runniing Windows 7 Pro OEM at the time, so using that with a new motherboard was not an option.
Decided to upgrade everything except the disk drives and the case, bought a new motherboard and an M.2 ssd for the boot drive, installed Windows 10 Pro OEM on the M.2, ran fine. Added back all the disk drives, still ran fine.
Installed an older version of VLC I grabbed off of the old C: drive because my internet connection is bad for half the month. 3.0.11 Vetinari Ran fine, I was happy. Only change I made was to a couple hotkeys.
Last time I ran it before today was last night. Ran a couple .mp4s and a couple .avis. Ran fine. Turned off monitor, left everything else on. No restarts or anything.
Today, I run a .avi. Flashes regularly at a rate of twice a second. Looking at it just now, it appears to be shifting between fullscreen and a small window in the upper left corner of the screen (without actually leaving fullscreen). Same happens with .mp4s, but not .mp3s. Sound works fine in all cases (it doesn't skip in .avis or .mp4s).
I've tried upgrading to 3.0.12 Vetinari, and killing hardware acceleration a couple other things I don't remember now.
Please help, this is giving me a headache, literally and figuratively.
