Advertising "slideshow"

It's a simple question ...

I've been tasked to provide a graphic slide-show in a restaurant window. It will be 2 vertical screens, with a pillar between, but that's not relevant, I have 2 options to bezel correct...

It's about playback - the "slide-show" will be a playlist of .JPGs or .PNGs, with one or two interleaved videos (we can choose encoding later). Obviously the playlist will have to loop indefinitely.

I have spent a considerable amount of time in the help pages, but so far nothing conclusive to bring this concept together.

In a nutshell, 2 questions

Can VLC Media player deliver the goal ?

Is there a cost for commercial use ?
