Ultrawide displays and dynamically cropping

Some movies change aspect ratio midway through. I have an ultrawide monitor so it perfectly fits anything ~21:9. If i get black bars, i can just crop to get rid of them. But some movies change aspect ratio in the middle so I'm stuck with having black bars all the way around the movie during 21:9 scenes if i don't crop, or cutting off part of the screen during times when it goes to 16:9 or 4:3 when I don't crop.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get around this? Is there a plugin or something which senses the current aspect ratio and will apply a crop dynamically?

Not that I know because most people prefer to have black bars than to lose a part of the image.
