VLC cuts off .wav files

Postby Snugglebit » 07 Feb 2021 14:31

Hey everyone,
I've got an issue with VLC. Whenever I try to play a short .wav file, the player seems to cut off the end and a bit of the beginning too. I can't hear the whole sound. Very short sounds (like 1 sec) can't even be heard at all.
Is there any way to fix that? I'm currently using version 3.0.12

EDIT: It's not only .wav files. ogg files are the same and I guess it'll be the same with all other files too.

Thank you

Try another audio output module:
http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-2.0 ... _anomalies

After the changes save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.

If it doesn't help then open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of your original problematic file to Zippyshare.com or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

https://wetransfer.com

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

100 MB max should be enough.
