Frame by frame feature fails on short vids, bug #25051

Hi all,

I am not certain if this is the right place, but I'd like to express the importance that bug #25051 gets fixed.
It was reported 4 months ago, and the bug hit me last week.
I am using VLC in class to analyse short videos with the "frame by frame" feature for several years now.
Last week, my students weren't able to perform their tasks in class due to bug #25051.
At the start of that lesson I praised VLC, guess how the students felt about VLC at the end of the lesson.
I tried the latest versions of VLC on Windows 10 and Ubuntu, I don't know if Macs are affected too.
