Clip Playback in VLC

Postby 3guesses » 24 Aug 2020 16:53

Hi,

If I have an audio or video file and I want VLC to play just a specific clip from it (eg. just the section from time code 00:00:10 to 00:00:30) is there some way to do that? Basically I want to avoid having to create a separate file (consisting of just the specific clip) from the original media file. Ideally it would be some sort of playlist metafile that would simply instruct VLC which clip of which media file to play (and at what speed).

Thanks very much,

3g

No responses? Does that mean it is not possible to do?

Just use :start/stop-time VLC options with your media files (Media > Open Multiple Files... > [v] Show more options), then save playlist file (Media > Save Playlist to File...). You can try VLC extension: https://addons.videolan.org/p/1154005/
