I am on Panther and I'm trying use VLC to convert a HDTV DivX movie (1280x780p) into a MPEG2. VLC is better than the Apple's MPEG2 encoder or Compressor in that it does not have a restriction to NTSC resolution. The problem is I would like the data rate to be higher than the 3024 kbps offered in the drop down, typing a higher value actually results in a lower quality video! Is this a bug?
