Snapshot dimensions are increased in rotated videos

When videos are rotated, snapshots that I take are stretched and have higher dimensions (for example, a 1920x1080 video's snapshot turns into 3413x1920). Is this a known issue that's a byproduct of the video rotation system of VLC player? A bug that might eventually be fixed? Or is this not supposed to be happening normally?

I'm not sure about what is going on, but you should create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with a link to a sample file and to this thread.
