Disable volume regulation on keyboard keys (key up / key down)

Postby maxx90 » 20 Jan 2020 06:46

I want to disable the keyboard up and down keys in order not to regulate the volume. I've looked through the options, but wasn't able to find it.

When I'm in VLC and press the up key, the volume is increased above 100%. I can't see the actual percentage as I set the "Max Volume displayed" to 100 (advanced settings - interface - main interface - qt), but when I hit key up, the sound gets worse and worse. I've already set the hotkeys vor Volume up and Volume down to unset – they are empty.

I'm not sure if this thread solved the issue back in 2010: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=80652#p288339 . However, the solution doesn't work for me currently.
I'm using VLC 3.0.8 Vetinari on Linux/Ubuntu if this is something you need to know.
