How to make VLC reconnect to a stream

Hello guys,

I usually record streams into ts files and I have an issue: in case the stream or the connection is interrupted, the image freezes and VLC is unable to reconnect automatically once the link is restored.
I made a search on the forum and found about the --http-reconnect command but I was not able to implement it.
Is there any solution to this problem?
