VLC plays same vid in two horizontal split screen, top is normal bottom is seen in colored transparent bars across vid

Are you playing a DVD? I've seen this when the DVD would not launch and I tried to play the VOB files directly. You need to open the folder and not the file. Open the \VIDEO folder from the DVD.
