MTS files New Member

Patience is not one of my virtues when technology is the topic and it has issues. Therefore I as a novice have bought an Ematic digital converter for an old television and the added option of owning this converter is that it will record and playback the television program like the old VCR did. So now I must learn VLC. VLC is a videoLan software that allows me to playback using my computer and my television as the monitor. I am here to ask what is a .MTS file by definition? When I have difficulty playing back what I recorded, I don't know how to troubleshoot the problems. Thus this is how I plan to "Contribute to the Project." SI will give feedback on what I did and what is happening when I use VLC to playback a .MTS file.

MTS are video files, usually from TV broadcast, also known as TS files. They contain both audio and video.
