lost audio stream halfway through DVD conversion

Am converting DVD movie and conversion playback is fine until I lose audio stream 3/4 of the way into movie. Million Dollar Baby is the movie and at around 1:16:41 the movie fades to a new scene and the audio is lost at that point. Also have noticed that it wants to select French track when converting even though in preferences english is selected. Any help is appreciated.
