Recorded clips continue past second Record button click

Postby tillulen » 23 Jun 2018 11:32

Hey there.

I’m having trouble with cutting a short clip from a H.264 video file using the Record button.

I pause the original video, disable the audio track, click the Record button and navigate the video frame by frame either using the on-screen button or the E keyboard shortcut. I press the Record button the second time to stop recording a few screen-time seconds after. So the resulting video file should be a few seconds long. Actually the resulting file doesn’t end there and can last much longer, such as 12 or 28 seconds.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

I’m using VLC 3.0.3 on Windows 10.

The record has latency, so far, in 3.0. You cannot control that, for now.
