how/where can I switch the view angle ?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

A fairly common DVD with 2 angles is Armageddon, the second angle just replaces the in movie text with french, probably for release in canada. It's the original 1999 release of the movie ( at least I think it was 1999)

The three posts above show that material is readily available.
Which makes this sound like a pretext:
According to Wikipedia, multiple angles are correlated to pornographic content. This may be (a large part of) the problem :!: As a developer, I would rather test with work-safe material.
With that argument, VLC could stop DVD support alltogether, as there are (single-angle) porn DVDs out there in the wild as well.
What does mutli-angle have to do with porn anyway? That's like saying banks are dangerous places, because there can be bank robbers...

Troll me once more and I will have you banned. This is your last warning. At the point where I posted my comment, there had not been much if any note of a specific and non-pornographic DVD title with multiple angles.

Anyhow, I do not wish to spend my money on this, especially when I am being trolled. Special thanks to Chrizoo for killing developers motivation.

I have an internal martial arts DVD and they show the forms at multiple angles, it works with other players. I can't manage to figure out how to rotate between them in VLC :(

Hoping to revive this thread once more with more specific details for the developers.

Here's a screenshot of the angle feature in Media Player Classic HC. I think this is how most of us are hoping for the angle feature to work in VLC.

And here's a screenshot from VLC. The only menu option I could find is under Playback > Navigation > DVD Menu > Angle, but all that does is take me back to the regular DVD menu.

The DVD seen in these screenshots is Animusic.

I'm confused by that reply. I can't tell if it's supposed to be sarcastic or serious.

OK. Then, is there any intention to support angles correctly?

I only came here looking for a solution to this issue. But looks like there is none :(

I have several Japanese (music) DVDs, and some movies (not porn) that have the 2nd camera angle, but can not choose it with VLC.

Please consider to implement that feature.

There is a concert video by Metallica released in 1998, for example. It's called Cunning Stunts. That 2 DVD set feature multiple angles.
Maybe this will help.

Both Animusic DVDs have viewing options that use the ANGLE button. It would be nice to be able to watch them ;)
ISO images of both DVDs are available on the Internet Archive.

I currently have both discs of the Animusic Albums. I came to this thread in search for an answer but it seems as if it's not supported.

I'm willing to assist in development if testing is necessary. VLC is my number one go-to media player but it kinda sucks that it can't handle angles.

I saw that the option in the context menu was removed. Was the plans for the support abandoned? Or perhaps it was removed to avoid confusion.
