VLC 3.0.1 not playing mp4 video

I am having a problem with VLC 3.0.1 not playing back some videos. The previous version of VLC played them fine and so does Windows Media Player. I am running on Windows 10. Is this a known issue?

Please try 3.0.2 from nightly builds, where D3D11/D3D9 was improved quite a bit.

I have the same issue. I go back to version 2.2.8-win64 to fix it. So something has changed witn Ver3.X.X that broke MP4
