VLC 3.0.1 does not play back .m2t-Files

Postby Charles Rubick » 13 Mar 2018 23:22

Using MS-Windows 7 VLC 3.0.1 (Vetinari) crashes when playing back .m2t-Files (MPEG2-Transport-Stream) which were made using Kaffeine on Ubuntu-Linux with DVB-S(1)-Card (Files containing Teletext-Streams).

Same .m2t-Files play back without problems using VLC 2.x.x (Weatherwax) on Windows and Linux.

-

Videotext-Informationen) erzeugt.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also please upload a short sample of a problematic file to either Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=57724&p=193335#p193335
50 MB max should be enough.

VLC 3.0.1 crashes, so the Log-File has a length of only 2 Bytes (CR+LF (0d+0a) in the Log-File even when the verbose-level was set to 2 (debug))!

The first 50 MB of one of the .m2t-files can be found at

http://www93.zippyshare.com/v/mGDdUPK2/file.html

It contains only commercials (TV Recording) and has a playtime of 2 mins and 12 secs (playable using VLC 2.x.x).
