Displaying EPG for IPTV

Postby IPTV_streamer » 10 Mar 2018 17:46

I've started using VLC for streaming my IPTV. My service provider also provides me a URL for the EPG. I'm not sure how to get the EPG URL to work with VLC. I am aware of the Program Guide option in the Tools menu but I just can't figure out how to get VLC to read the stream.

What is the format of the EPG from your service provider?

My service provider gave me 2 URLs. One is for the video stream, the other is for the EPG.

Greetings to all, :D

I am attempting to configure VLC Media Player for my IPTV service provider. They too have provided me with a playlist URL that uses the format: http://site:port/get.php?username=MYUSERNAME&password=MYPASSWORD&output=ts&type=m3u_plus and an EPG URL with the format: http://site:port/xmltv.php?username=MYUSERNAME&password=MYPASSWORD.

I would like to request some guidance on the procedure to configure VLC Media Player with the EPG URL (if it is possible to do so), as I have already sussed out how to configure the playlist URL.

Likewise, to not keep reinventing the wheel, perchance is there a tutorial somewhere on the VideoLAN website which explains how to utilize the VLC Media Player for an IPTV service provider? I have tried a couple of preliminary searches without any success. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
