Problems with downloading to ipad

Hello,
I have windows 7 professional, 64bit operating system, VLC 2.2.6 I use handbrake 1,0.9 to make copies of dvd's. I get a lot of pixelation I tried using mkv to remove it but its still there. I have made some successful copies without pixelations, but I don't know what I am doing wrong now. I don't know coding so please keep explanations simple.
