Playing .amr files with VLC - looping failure

I have used VLC to play .amr audio files I have recorded with my mobile phone. When playing, sometimes it starts to loop at the same place. Same failure occurs also when playing the files with the same phone they have been recorded. The disturbance occurs more often when the file is recorded at the end of memory space of the phone. Maybe some kind of timing problem? Is there anything to do when listening these files with the VLC? Or is there any tools available to fix corrupted audio files?
