adjust currently playing video

Hello,

The VLC media player permits adjustments to a currently playing video. You can tweak the brightness, contrast, and hue (and other settings) in real-time.

In my scenario I can't access directly Settings->GUI/Effects/Video etc. I would like to be able to access it remotely, for example with commands/RC/any other script, to tweak settings in real-time. (I mean not accessing Settings via GUI but with commands).

I believe for command something like: "vlc set contrast 0.8" (or any other scriptable method via any other option like http, port, nc, any other utility with commands)

Please, How can this be done?

thanks, but I think these values in command line can be set for new vlc instance. But I have one vlc instance running and I want to be able to adjust setting on the fly, if possible.

You can use the Hotkeys or Effect and Filters to control the media objects you are watching.

Hotkeys are not available for brightness, contrast, hue, etc values.
