I noticed that my home videos created using my JVC HD camcorder at 720p are losing many video frames per second in VLC. In just 10 seconds, 95 video frames were lost!
Yet, the video files from my Galaxy s4 phone, which are at a higher resolution (1080p), don't lose any frames when played back in VLC.
I compared the Codec information available in VLC, and the only real difference I could tell, other than the resolution, is the frame rate.
The JVC @ 720p: frame rate is 59.940059 (Lost 95 video frames in 10 seconds)
The Galaxy s4 phone @ 1080p: frame rate is 29.877019 (No Loss)
Codec on both is H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part10) (avc1) and the Decoder Format is Planar 4:2:0 YUV
PC Specs:
AMD FX-8350 4GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB
Radeon HD 5500
Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Mike
