Is there any way to configure VLC so I can control video cropping/uncropping using just FOUR keys, rather than EIGHT?

I've never really had any reason to crop/uncrop just the top or bottom (or just one side), but I do sometimes want to fine-tune video cropping beyond the 10 "preset" output modes on the Video -> Crop menu. In any given case all I want is a single key CropOnePixelVertical or CropOnePixelHorizontal (with a corresponding Uncrop key if I go too far! :)

Can this be done? Or is it a feature request?
