video quality is bad.

vlc is great and all but for some reason the videos play with a bad quality. it happened on windows media player and i fixed it by changing the video overlays to high quality. i took some screenshots but they look fine, so it appears that it is just while it is playing. does anyone know how to change this ?

i just tried that and it made no change. this is so annoying, in reference to the windows media player just change the setting to what i said i changed it from and you should get the idea of the kind of quality im looking at.
