Screenshot taking equals crash

Postby RedKorss » 26 Jan 2016 02:21

Hey, not sure this is the right forum, but as it could happen on any platform I'll post it here.

Personally I am on Windows 10-64bit just so that is out of the way.

I'm taking screenshots from Naruto as references for 3d modelling. Worked fine for the first five episodes. There was a crash while it was minimized, but upon restarting it kept on crashing whenever I take a screenshot. I get the screenshot. But I must restart the episode and jump to about where I was, and when a lot of things are happening, it's problematic to get all the screenshots taken. Odds are I'll end up taking a screenshot of the same thing five times.

Anyway's a quick search yielded only years old issues with this. Tried one suggestion to use an older version. Though I have no idea why it would work. It worked fine for five episodes as I mentioned earlier. It still crashed. tried one of the earlier episodes in case there was something wrong with that specific episode, but no, it crashed as well.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

EDIT:

I reinstalled VLC, and I did not add language preferences and then I can take screenshots without VLC crashing. Though it is annoying as hell to shift the language back every time. I suppose I'll have to do that until an update fixes this.
