VLC fo TV?

Are there plans for official or unofficial version of VLC for smart TVs (not Android)?

Would be great for playing IPTV used by some providers.

First things first: are there any plans by smart TV vendors to provide usable SDKs to third parties and a reasonable way to publish third party apps?

Besides Android TV and Apple TV, VLC also has a Tizen port. I have not heard of anything else.
