Disabling Announcer Audio in VLC

Postby aleckrohto » 23 Jan 2016 02:34

I was wondering how to disable the announcer audio of a sports broadcast if it is broadcast in 5.1 surround sound. Since the announcer feed usually comes out the center. I was wondering is there are way to disable it in VLC?

You can disable the center channel with the audio channel remapping filter (VLC), though that's not trivial to configure. It should also be possible with the operating system (not VLC) channels balance. Either way, I don't know if that will actually filter out the comments, and if so, if it won't sound weird and jarring.
