I just want to know if I truly understand the term streaming here.

If I only use VLC to view videos that are saved to an Internal harddrive, 100% saved and no internet or network needed, am I ever technically streaming anything?

I have always assumed streaming meant items were accessed or viewed remotely in one way or another. But now I'm not sure entirely how it's used after reading the documentation and forums.
I totally understand the VideoLAN probably assumes everyone already knows and again, sorry I have to ask such a low-level question here.
