Hardware for live streaming server

Postby joseacano » 28 Aug 2015 01:39

Hi.

I want to broadcast a live event over the LAN.
I want use VLC as a streaming server. What hardware would need to 300-500 unicast users?
VLC bear this demand of users?
Protocol that you advise me? HTTP, RTP, RTMP?
As bandwidth is a gigabit lan.

thanks

Most certainly not. VLC does not scale up on its own (except with multicast).
