Is there any way at all to automate volume control with VLC? I know that there are a few other video players out there that have a smart volume plugin, but you have to pay for the player then you have to pay for the plugin, which is absolutely nuts.
I am having a really hard time using the funky mixer or whatever it is called that is suppose to allow you to force the volume into a specific range, so I was wondering there were an easy way to keep from hearing *BOOM* when the Enterprise self destructs, or listening to Admiral Adama whispering while Colonel Tigh is sitting there right next to him screaming at the top of his voice. Forgive my frustration, but this is absolutely ridiculous. I remember a time when all video had to conform to a specific sound testing range so that people did not have to turn their computers way down or their TV's way up in order to watch something without waking the kids or disturbing their neighbors.
Please, there must be an intelligent and non-technical way of controlling volume in our videos.
