Utter Newbie; is there a 'library'?

Postby blackwood13 » 31 Mar 2015 14:37

So, I'm not a computer gal, and up until now I have been using WMP. I have seen many people on KAT recommend VLC, and since I have had it with WMP's library issues, I thought I'd try VLC. However, I see it does not automatically import your media files into a 'library', and adding them one folder at a time is a PitA...I must be missing some obvious procedure, right?

I keep my MP3 files organized by artist name under the "My Music" folder, with subfolders for albums in some cases. I was hoping to be able to add "My Music" folder/library and have the music appear, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Or...I am so dumb I missed something. And dumbness is a possibility!

Any way to easily add my MP3s so that they will automatically appear wen I open VLC? Or, barring that, how about a recommendation of a free audio player that I can use to burn CDs with that's as easy as I described?

Thanks so much!

Kim
