Problem when opening big folders with the "open folder" tool

Now. I just managed to get my old backup of music to my pc, and i decided to listen to it with vlc. I use windows xp x86. The problem is, when i open the "Music" folder with the "open folder" tool, it opens just some of the files included for seemingly no reason and choosing the unplayed files randomly. Any idea?
