Recording all tracks off cd

Hi, I'm new to VLC. I'm trying to find out how to rip all the tracks off a cd. Every time I try, it only records one track. Do I have record them individually? Also, will the information i.e Track name & artist be recorded too or do I have to put that in myself? Would appreciate any pointers.
