Note this is not OS specific as it happens in both Winderp$ (Windows) 7 and Linux, that is why I have posted it here.
Whenever I close a Google Hangouts call, I have the effect of turning off all bass "channels" (not sure what they're called exactly, don't think channels is the right word) so that you could only hear treble.

Logitech Gaming Software is in place on Winderp$, but I can't get such software via Linux sadly. If any more info is needed please let me know.
On a side note, if anyone has ANY clue how to setup 7.1 virtualization via Linux, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I can't get it to work, and that is the only thing keeping me from running Linux as my main OS.
