Tunnel RTSP and RTP over HTTP doesn't work ?!

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Tunnel RTSP and RTP over HTTP doesn't work ?!

Postby yenping » 11 Sep 2014 04:01

Hi, all,

Recently I implemented a simple RTSP server on my embedded box, everything worked fine with the VLC 2.1.5 Rincewind except the Tunnel RTSP and RTP over HTTP option. Please help to identify the issues on

live555 debug: connection timeout
live555 error: Failed to connect with rtsp://192.168.5.51/rtspstream?channel=1&stream=2

and

access_realrtsp warning: only real/helix rtsp servers supported for now
main debug: no access modules matched
main error: open of `rtsp://192.168.5.51/rtspstream?channel=1&stream=2' failed

PS. The simple RTSP server works with openRTSP (from live555.com) well,
C:> openRTSP.exe -T 80 -u admin 1234 "rtsp://192.168.5.51/rtspstream?channel=1&stream=2"

Code: Select all

Hi, all,

I just downloaded the VLC 1.1.11 Luggage from http://download.videolan.org/pub/videol ... -win32.exe. And then the option Tunnel RTSP and RTP over HTTP works fine now.

So there shall be something wrong on this issue between VLC 1.1.11 Luggage and VLC 2.1.5 Rincewind.

Any one can help ?

Dear all,

Finally, the latest workable version for me is VLC 2.0.3 Twoflower.
Perhaps we can check the difference between VLC 2.0.3 Twoflower and VLC 2.0.4 Twoflower.
